We stopped double hip twist in the 70,s Kimura moved away from Tani's technique and developed his own single hip technique

I know this is a basic gyaku tsuke, but do you not apply the double hip twist that Shukokai is famous for?

To help you all, the instructor is the great sensei Terry Pottage. Google him to reveal his pedigree, it speaks for itself. Don't judge a book by its cover as they say. I believe Terry was originally part of the Shukokai Karate Union - formed of course by Kimura in 1969. OSU

Shukokai is one of the sects of Shito-ryu (a style). There are a few significant differences between Shito-ryu and the Shukokai version. The reason I asked "which branch" is becayse instructor here doesn't demonstrate either Tani's method or Kimura's method. The only identifier is the forward open hand (a signature of Shukokai).. bacurrieo01... If you think that this is a powerful Gyaku-tsuki, look-up Kimura Shukokai. That's IMPACT!
