Prisoners should get health care and good food as well as recreation and sports. They are already denied their freedom which is the most valuable thing a person can ever have. Most of these crimes are bullshit. Plenty of people deserve to be killed and ALL drugs should be legal. Except in very rare cases there should be NO life sentences.

Prisoners probably died back in the day, but it must be considered inhumane to let prisoners die from sickness, of which they will suffer from. I don't get the prison systems. The prisoners are able to police the compound by forming gangs and older criminals have high expenses as the result of drug /alcohol abuse. And the rest outside lies in the gutter or faces government caused ''economic crisis''. lol i love how fucked this world is.

America needs to review their gun laws and spend all this money on health care for all their citizens, not just prisoners.

Obama tried to get universal healthcare for law abiding Jo, you guys didn't want it. California is like Greece: some of the richest people in the world live there, yet the state is broke and can't make payroll. The priorities of the US are fucked, and that is why the entire planet laughs at you. Pretty soon there will be more people in jail than free.

One other thing I noticed is that even the people in your prisons are fat!! Most of those guys look like they get more than 3 squares a day.

i knew free, honest, wonderful law abiding people who have died from cancer with no coverage and the hospitals/doctors did not give 2 shits about them, and yet prisoners can get top of the line care to overcome stage 4 cancer. America is a great nation indeed.

Life is prison has always been the standard sentence - even in early England for larceny. This is as natural as is water flowing downhill. Life sentences for ANY crime should be automatic, dispensed by machine. No judges needed, only LIFE sentences are given.
