1971 Walter Snow Fighter

Walter plow opening road in upstate NY after the St. Valentines Day Storm of 2007. When you see the snow come over the center of the "V", it's 6' deep at that point. The truck is a 1971 Walter with a Frink V and 14' wings. 300HP Cummins & Allison Automatic.

Great video! I'm always disgusted when they scrap these old trucks and the great Frink v-plows when some new supt. wants all shiny new toys in the garage. V-plow operation is becoming a lost skill. Morris sold their old black Cummins diesel Walter about five years before the blizzard of '94 when it would have paid it's rent, instead of needing excavators.

Actually, after 40 years in these trucks he has probably backed through more snow than most people have plowed! :-)
