What is the 1st amendment? I think its about free speach. Something I (here) take for granted because its ancient and I live in a RIGHTS BASED country. But how can the government archive someone expressing their opinion and not maintain a record of it?

Federal Law also protects US citizens from unlawful searches and seizers as is the 4th amendment. Which Bush violated over and over when he spied on American Citizens.

The purpose of conservatives in Congress has been to look the other way when corporations break safety and consumer fraud regulations, as well as to pass additional laws that gut existing regulations. So its important not only to have government regulation, but also to make sure that we elect politicians who will vigorously enforce said regulations.
