Heinkel 162 (Salamander) RC Jet

Some final engine tests with this almost finished Heinkel 162 (Salamander) RC warbird.
All handmade (engine included), this model was built in Portugal by José Monteiro and his brother (and the oficial pilot too) Humberto Monteiro.
I can't wait to see it completed, burning the Portuguese skies with the final paint and all the details!

Nice model but the name of the aircraft is the "Volksjäger" (Peoples Fighter) not Salamander. Salamander was the project or code name that the HE-162 Volksjäger was built. Great aircraft that was built under extreme conditions that only saw service during the last weeks of the war. If you compare the main landing gear doors to the modern F-16 they are almost identical.
