Chevelle has a great hard-driving rock sound, and when I heard their new single, I thought it would be good fun to play it with more of a Danny Carey feel rather than the straightforward beats that Sam Loeffler uses. I had some time to play in the studio (a.k.a. barn) yesterday, started playing along with the song, and it just sort of fell together.
I'm so excited about the drum sound on this one - I just replaced my old cheap Digital Reference microphone kit with Audix D-series mics. Holy cow it makes a huge difference!
