I've seen Jason play the squeezebox over the years, and I was thrilled to film him this morning at Embarcadero Station in San Francisco. He also plays with The Brunos, who can be found at www.brunoband.com

  • I thought of Jason today when I heard of Ron Patterson's death, because we (Jason and I; never met Patterson) met at a RenFaire in the late 80s. I think I remember his first painful stabs at playing the accordion, on Grove St in SF.

Here's to playing it so seemingly effortlessly now. Not even looking at your fingers, or the camera! Except that sly happy look at the end.

  • @skeletoncabinet Great comment!

  • Nice colors and framing and lighting too! With what did you film this?? He is a happy go lucky fellow!

  • Thanks! I used a Kodak Zi6, a pocket video cam that looks like a cell phone, and brightened up the video a bit with the brightness-contrast tool in iMovie.

  • very good. prima

  • It has 12 bass buttons because it was customized by Jehan Paul, the previous owner and also a great accordionista.

  • Sounds good, Jason!

  • This accordion sounds and looks like a Hohner Pokerwork but the gold pattern is missing and has 12 bass buttons.

  • Thanks for uploading this charming vid.
