The 16th Bohem Ragtime & Jazz Festival (www.bohemragtime.com) in Kecskemet, Hungary in March 2007 was one of John Arpin's last appearances. John passed away 6 months later in cancer. Here he was weak but vivid and his playing is marvellous as ever. He performs a medley of W. C. Handy's blues compositions.

  • JArpin was a wonderful and incredible piano player; his own St Louis Blues version was one of the best ever created...

  • What a great loss to the ragtime community. He will be greatly missed.

And this video has still no dislikes! Wow, who can though? This is just amazing. I am so in-love with music, and life, and ARpin, and ragtime and everything again! Feels so inspired.

  • Excellent, a real master of the keyboard...we will miss him...but he lives on in his recordings...
