This really isn't a big deal and it's certainly not an indication that BYU as an institution or student body are classless hypocrites. Just relax people and realize that BYU students/fans are human too and most of us don't claim to be any "better" or whatever, than anyone else. We simple try to live up to a set lofty standards we set for ourselves and often times don't even achieve because we're just like everyone else, human. Just breathe everyone, don't make too much of this, it's not worth it
What I think is hilarious is that if this were to happen anywhere else, it'd be drinks and hard/dangerous objects being thrown on the floor and players. Here, it was wadded up papers and various soft things. Let's not blow this out of proportion people. Yeah, the BYU crowd didn't just simply turn the other cheek, but come on, every one is human and those who did choose to throw things onto the court at least had the common sense to throw things that wouldn't hurt anyone or do any damage.
@jonkl2007 We do teach that, many of us are ashamed about Saturday's behavior, the school paper was FULL of complaints to our own student section. We should honor our committments when we signed the Honor Code.
@CallmeRogerRoger most other fans at other schools didn't sign an honor code, like we do...and they don't have religious leaders who continually council us about our conduct in sporting events (Uchtdorf, Tuedays Devotionals, Kimball, etc.). We are held to a higher standard because we agreed to it. Yes, we are held to a higher standard. There is no excuse for Saturday's behavior. We will be watched more than other schools because of our committment.

If you guys saw the game and were a BYU fan you probably would have thrown crap on the floor too. Worst I've ever seen since 1997
