  • Dr. Elligan, do you have any suggestions for managing stress and family during the holiday season? Thank you.

  • I actually did some research on managing stress because lately the daily issues are becoming too hard to handle for me. so, my ways of dealing with it is by keeping myself busy. when I'm upset i talk to my friends. sometimes i walk around the lake to refresh myself. i try very hard to have a positive attitude. sometimes i talk to myself out loud so the the emotions are not bottled up with in me.

  • These are some good tips to manage stress. I have tried these, and I can agree that it is good to go out with friends and have fun when one is going through a rough time.

  • i have really been stressed out with family, work, and daily issues. I have also caught myself eating a load of junk food instead of the healthy foods i usually eat. i feel like i am pushing my problems to the side instead t of getting at them and it is just making it worse. i need to get back to my meditation it really helped last time.

  • These are very good techniques that actually help. I recently started meditating by listening to music, preferably Wiz Khalifa and Kid Cudi because it is a easy listen. Also I socialize with friends a lot. All is left to do now is exercise and start eating right. Also, i plan on getting the recommended 7-8 hours of sleep.

  • Dr. Elligan has given me helpful tips in mangeing my stress. Majority of the things he listed i do take part when im stress out. However, dieting and working out has been a helpful tip that i will use when i'm under stress.

  • The techniques presented are very helpful i tend to get stressed and overwhelmed very easily. Especially when finals are coming up in school this techniques are helpful. I should be eating more healthy instead of eating out to much, and i rarely exercise. the only two things that I do is get my 7-8 hours of sleep, and socializing with friends. Now I know two things I have to improve on my diet, and getting exercise. thanks Dr. Elligan for the helpful techniques.

  • Speaking on stress and stress management. Sleep plays a big part in managing stress. Exercise is also a stress manager. This video, as are the others, very enlightening and informative,

  • I think where a lot of people fail in at managing stress at is diet, rest and the emotional aspect. There are a lot of reasons why people in lower income communities are depressed a lot, and one of those aspects is diet. Diet is horrible and when stressed, we run to foods that "comfort" us at least for a time. The stress comes back, and we keep running to those bad foods. Rest is very important. When people say they slept bad, I ask them to look at factors that are effecting their sleep.

  • Good techniques Dr Elligan. I usually exercise or dance!!! I love dancing so that makes me happy and my body as well as my mind loosen up. the negative effects of stress/anxiety on me is diet. As you mentioned, I either miss meals or start eating unhealthy but I try to control those behaviors.
