First cutting of alfalfa. The haylage is dumped and packed into concrete bunker silos. The haylage is then covered with a plastic tarp and used car tires are put down over the tarp.

  • We couldn't get a second cutting of alfalfa last year because there are so many deer in the area. Do you have any problems with deer?

  • Not like we did in the past. The hunters here in Pa keep them killed off. Our problem has been with ground hogs. There has been a lot of busted up machinery over the past several years.

  • you reallly need to pack more while you are filling

  • They did a fine job. They pack constantly.

  • how many trucks do you have and how long are they what self propelled chopper do you have and how big is the corn head and what company made the those truck wagons

  • We have two customzied forage trucks, not sure about the length of the beds. We use an outdated Gehl chopper pulled by a heavy duty John Deere. I'm not too familiar with the equipment since I spend 99.9% of my time with the animals.
