A line LASER taken from a level is attached to an RC servo. The servo is controlled by a microcontroller (ATtiny24) which runs a software realtime clock. The LASER line turns as time runs like the shadow cast by a sundial's style.
This video shows the 'seconds display' mode where the LASER turns 90 degrees in one minute then resets to zero. The LASER can be pulsed or continuous. Flickering of the LASER beam is due to the low frame rate of the video. Better still picture are on http://www.5volt.eu together with full project details.
