Welcome back! After a nice 2 hours in the sky it was finally time to land ;( This Airbus A320 is now starting is descent & final approach into Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). What made the flight extra special was the UNLIMITED complementary snacks & drinks! ;) The flight was delayed about 30 minutes due to the strong winds up here in Newark. When we were on our final approach the pilot kept turning so I was not sure what runway he was going to land on. I got to talk to him after everyone got off the plane and he explained that if we were to land on 4L/4R or 22L/22R it would not be pretty due to the fact there were 40 knot crosswinds and an A320 is not good in crosswinds. Our only option was to touch down on good old 22! Runway 22 is not know for landings of larger aircraft like A320's but due to the help of the 30 knot headwinds, the landing was possible. Besides that, it was a nice day & a "Clear blue sky" (the aircrafts name)!

  • that looks like JFK

  • @pcmechanic14 Because of the rare approach to runway 29, we fly right over the populated areas of Newark and Elizabeth. It makes it feel like you are coming into JFK a little.

  • @AcePilotFilms It alright. I always tripple check my runways to make sure they are correct!

  • @TheLiLD95 oh yes, im sorry about that. i didnt notice the turnpike. sorry for causing that disagreement

  • @AcePilotFilms Runway 29 runs PARALLEL to the Continental Service Hanger. Right before touchdown, at around 4:27, we fly right over the New Jersey Turnpike. If you were on approach to runway 22R you would not be flying over the NJ Turnpike.

  • @TheLiLD95 22R is right next to the continental service hanger, how can you not remember that?

  • @AcePilotFilms That is not runway 22R. This runway, runway 29, is facing due West. Runway 22R is facing due South.

  • thats runway 22R

  • @thilan2010 Thanks! Me too!

  • WOW...Nice video...I LuV Newark!
