Many locomotives in operation from various makers such as Airfix, Hornby, Bachmann, Mainline, Tri-Ang, Lima etc. Many different trains running along the entire route.

  • Hi! what size is your garden and what is the overall lengh of your runing? the simplicity of your layout has given me the insperation to get My garden layout started. great vid'by the way

  • @heezabirddog Hi there. The Garden Railway runs along the left side of the garden, from the garden shed and down towards the house. I've never really calculated how far it goes but its not huge by any means, yet it is compact and steeply graded. The trains work hard on my line! Put it like this, a train leaving the shed takes 1.5 minutes at normal speed to complete the line, rather than the old 15 seconds or so that it used to take to traverse the biggest oval on my model railway layout! :)

  • What hapens when it rains??

  • @evans10j Trains can still run but Hornby isn't really designed for rain. But, we have used engines who's motor are fully concealed to haul trains in heavy rain and even snow!

  • what happens if it rains!!!!

  • @NMT270 Not an issue my friend ;)

  • Can i buy your bachmann small prairie off you please as is really nice and maybe an auto coach too?

  • looks & sounds a little fragile but seems pretty robust out there. not sure i would recomend running it in the rain even if it can! but over all verry nice indeed!

  • In reply to my last message: And also, the trains I had going round my garden on the track, after probably a dozen times or so, would suddenly derail for no reason, or certain wheels come off for no visible reason. I found this very frustrating.

  • How often would the tracks need to be cleaned between long periods after running? Are there any problems with the points ie bits of grit getting in & other things. The experience ive had with 12 volts can be very frustrating, for example, you stop the train at a station & it probably wont start again without a little push even though everything's clean electrically wise.It seems it needs a little boost to get it running again.

  • kick ass set dude

  • @steampics What would happen if it was heavily raining and the motor wasn't fully concealed? And how do you conceal the motor?

  • is there any extra care needed for when running in the garden with 00? i have a g scale layout atm, but would love to move my 00 layout into the garden for the large sweeping curves possible,

  • Keep up the good work as that is possibly the best layout ever!!! Was the blue loco the 'Mallard' or 'Sir Nigel Greasly'??? Will be watching more of your videos!!!

  • Have u got DCC on the layout yet?

  • @STbluefox Naa its Sir Nigel Greasly
