My characters for this fight were all between level 49 and 52. They were built based on loc182's guide on Gamefaqs. I made some slight alterations to the statting to suit my play style.

In terms of skills and shadows, all my guys had the Support Magic Shadow. This adds both the highest Magic Attack stat and also give you support Magic LV6.

In addition to Support Magic LV6 I had all the other LV6 Magic as well. Here is the skill set all my guys had.

Acc +3
Skill +8
Sentinel Shield
Ninja Swiftness
Double Cast
Endure
Resurrection
Quick Magic Charge
White Magic LV6
Black Magic LV6
Barrier Magic LV 6
Support Magic LV6

This gives you 3 accessories, an additional 8 skills, the Defense stat of your Guardian shadow, the agility stat of your Assassin shadow, the ability to cast twice in a round, the ability to use your MP as HP, the ability to resurrect yourself once in battle, the ability to charge your spells twice as fast, and all Level 6 Magic.

In terms of accessories, all my guys were statted for one stat above all others, Agility. When fighting King Poo, the ability to have all your characters get a turn in between his is a must. All my guys ended up with a speed of between 250 and 275.

Here is the gear my guys had.

Shu:
Dragon Bracelet
Renew Ring
Shield Earring
Renew Necklace
Stomach Band
Crown of King Ghost
Ribbon

An additional 155 Agility

Jiro:
Eternity Bracelet
Eternity Ring
Gravatic Earring
Kelelon Necklace
Belt of Hermes
Ribbon
Shoes of the Ancients

Additional 160 Agility

Kluke:
Renew Bracelet
Shu's Ring
Eternity Earring
Kelelon Necklace
Belt of Hermes
Champion's Belt
Acorn Shoes

An Additional 155 Agility

Marumaro:
Ancient Warrior Bracelet
Infinity Ring
Renew Earring
Kelelon Necklace
Belt of Hermes
Shield Badge
Cross Trainers

An additional 160 Agility

Zola:
Ultimate Weapon Bracelet
Royal's Ring
Nene's Earring
Final War Necklace
Eyepatch
Champion's Belt
Shadowstep Shoes

Additional 155 Agility

With a setup like this, all your guys will have plenty of time to go in between King Poo's turns and more than enough time to charge up your defensive and offensive magic.

For the actual battle I start a monster fight. I apply some garlic to attract the poos into my encounter circle.

I use my stint with the poos to cure my Kelelon necklace wearers of the Kelelon Curse (Maro somehow avoided the curse, not that it matters), and then I stat them up with Previves, Quickus, Wallus, and Magic Attack up. After that I have as many of my guys charge up multiple Flaruses as possible so that when my last guy kills all the poos, King Poo is greeted by a fury of fully charged Flaruses.

Once the King Poo fight begins, unleash Flarus after Flarus after Flarus. Only break from casting it to reapply lost buffs. In my case, I had to occasionally reapply wallus to some members of my party.

My goal in the fight was to not allow King Poo to touch any of my characters, as it only takes one or 2 hits from him to kill off a party member.

Rinse and repeat and you'll flush this Poo in no time.
