Originally a French composition ("J'ai oublié de vivre") the song became a worldwide hit in the Iglesias version. Ray Conniff mixes voices and instruments smoothly, adds his typical easy-going rhythm and brings his musicians and singers to play and sing with a captivating enthusiasm. I probably have over 1200 artists in my 500 playlists, in fact 300 artists each have their own playlist.

And yet Ray's incomparable arrangements make all others pale for me in comparison. He was the master at blending instruments and voices, to the point we're not sure if the bass line is guitar only or includes trombone as well.

This song is a perfect representation of the musical style that made Ray beloved around the world!

"J'ai oublié de vivre" was also sung in French by Johnny Hallyday and had much success. Both versions are very different. This video is wonderful!
