L293 Dual H bridge Motor driver IC interface to the Microcontroller.Please note the input to out put is not inverted as said in the audio.You get the same output as the logic input.For example if input for 2 is high, out put at 3 also is high.

No it is buit in .That is why it is called L293D where D stands for diode.

You can have one input and add an inverter and connect it to the second input that makes the motor to run in opposite direction
