Amtrak's GE P42DC Genesis #181 pulls a northbound Downeaster across Old Orchard Street with EMD F40PH "Cabbage" #90214 on October 10th, 2011. Old Orchard Beach, which normally shuts down on Labor Day, was temporarily repopulated, thanks to the gorgeous weather on Columbus Day weekend. By 7:30 on Monday, though, the place was pretty much cleared out, as if nothing had ever happened. This was the second to last Portland bound train of the day: a second one was about 30 minutes behind.
