China is a HUGE country and a very diverse culture and geography. Ethnically speaking China has 56 minorities, the largest being the Han. So there are already AT LEAST 56 'dialects'.
However no fear! Mandarin is the lingua franca of China
being the language learnt in schools, on the news and for government.
