Green Day - Letterbomb music video, fan made (not my property, just for entertainment)

From my point of view, the song is based on recalling, thinking, and realizing everything.
The video starts when St.Jimmy leaves "The City" and everything of it. He starts remembering things as he reads Whatsername's letter. That city, that looked so "cool" the first time he arrives and that's not as he expected. The car symbolizes all the chaos that's going on. He's completely lost, he doesn't know what to do. He remembers Whatsername and look pictures of both of them. He also remembers his mother, the way he left her. And he realizes that "what's in love is now in debt". In this moment he starts thinking that he doesn't fit in "The City". He strikes a match as he continues looking at the photographs. He looks at them, he looks back to the match, and he finally decides to burn the photographs. This symbolizes the burning of the whole city, but he doesn't care, it's not his burden. He thinks over and over again, mostly about Whatsername and him being together, and about what he's going to do with his life now that's too late, but he's never going to look back. Whatsername says on her letter that he's got no identity, and he doesn't really know who he is. He's not the Jesus of Suburbia, but he's neither sure of being St.Jimmy. Maybe St.Jimmy is only the figment of his father's rage and his mother's love, as Whatsername says. He decides to fake a suicide, because his problems won't end until he's buried, until he's underground. But he's problems are not over, because he's not really dead. He starts to think again, thinking all night instead of sleeping, getting stressed... and he takes a decision. He leaves Whatsername and "The City" definitely and he goes. That's how it ends: she gets drunk so that she hasn't got to think about it all, and he leaves because he can't take that place and that kind of life.

Mi interpretación de la canción se basa en recordar, en pensar, y en darse cuenta de las cosas.
El vídeo empieza con Jimmy lléndose de "La Ciudad" y dejándolo todo. Empieza a recordar todo mientras lee la carta de Whatsername. La ciudad que parece tan "guay" cuando llega a ella y que resulta no serlo. El coche siboliza esa situación de caos. Él está perdido, ya no sabe que hacer. Recuerda a Whatsername, y mira fotos de él y ella. También se acuerda de su madre, de como la dejó. Se dá cuenta de que lo que era amor ahora está en deuda.
Aquí es cuando empieza a pensar qe no encaja en "La Ciudad". Enciende una cerilla mientras sigue viendo las fotos. Las mira, y mira a la cerilla, y al final decide qemar las fotos. Entonces es como si toda la ciudad se quemara, pero a él no le importa. Sigue pensando, en Whatsername y en él principalmente, y en lo qe va a hacer ahora con su vida, ahora que ya es demasiado tarde, pero decide qe no va a mirar atrás haga lo que haga. Whatsername le dice en su carta que no tiene identidad, y realmente él mismo ya no sabe quien es. No es Jesus of Suburbia, pero tampoco está seguro de ser st.Jimmy, que puede que solo sea un producto del odio de su padre y el amor de su madre, como dice ella. Decide fingir su suicidio, porque sus problemas no se van a acabar hasta que esté enterrado, bajo tierra. Pero sus problemas no han acabado, porque realmente no está muerto. Vuelve a estresarse, a estar toda la noche pensando sin poder dormir, y toma una decisión.
Decide dejar a Whatsername y a "La Ciudad" definitivamente e irse. Así acaba la historia: ella bebiendo para no pensar, y él lléndose porque ya no puede soportar ese barrio ni esa vida.
