Sample for a 4th-grade PowerPoint podcasting project on Animal Adaptations. This was supposed to show them how to be "creative" with the project, as that was one of the original parameters. Problem was, the co-teacher shot down a lot of their creative ideas while they were still in script form, and started requiring too much "formality" in the presentations. Mostly, though, the kids were so thrilled at just hearing their own voices on the computers, and so challenged by putting together the PPT slides (gawd... they type SO FREAKIN' SLOW), that aesthetics and entertainment value took a back seat to "getting it done."

  • You are correct about the dragonfish image. The source material indicated this was a viperfish. I suppose, then, that this provides an object lesson on always double-checking information found on the internet! Thanks for pointing out the error.

  • The picture at 0:17 shows a deep sea dragonfish, not a deep sea viperfish.
