I just bought these with a Xonar U3 and they kick ass! Easily better than my G930's mainly due to the better sound card. The memory foam makes them many time more comfortable than the G930's as well. I'm glad Asus finally decided to make a USB version of their Xonar sound processor because my graphic cards take up 3 slots which gives me no room for an installed soundcard.

@sincoliveapb Most so-called 5.1 headsets use Dolby Headphone or some other surround emulation. There's only two headsets in existence that have more than one audio driver per side to simulate true surround and they are the Tritton AXPro's and the Razer Titamat's. If you want 5.1 for these then all you need is a soundcard that supports the feature. Combine this with the Xonar U3 and you have a 5.1 headset with noise canceling. No other surround headset on the market does that.

Worth replacing my Razer Characias with these?

G35 will work great if you want to take it and use it with different computers that won't necessarily have good audio
Vulcan if you're going to be using a quality audio card and want more things to plug into
PS: I'm having the same dilemma

@LinusTechTips Asus Vulcan or Logitech G35... I have no extra sound card in my pc.
When doing a headset unboxing/ review, could you possibly do a mic test?

I admit I am kind of a Razer fanboy, but since I got my Megalodon headset, everything else in the price range just seems really cheaply made. I am sure that these are nice, and I LOVE Asus, but all the metal on metal and removable cord/mic/needs batteries thing just turns me off here. Nice review though Linus, thanks for keeping them coming!
