@JonnDalton I've checked out the other submissions on this item and man you play in your own league, in only the first 20 seconds you've already wiped out all the competition!

this is gorgeous, wonderful when the harmonica comes in on the intro. It's exactly the right sound. I believe most good songs have one or more tricks/secrets, and this song's is the dropped D tuning. You simply have to try it yourself to realise how import it is for the character of this song, to produce that droning D-bass that makes the D chord so much more powerful than usual, and as a side-effect changes the bass on the other chords as well.

Cheers Jonas,
You sum it up pretty well. The dropped D on the bass is so simple but makes a huge impact on the feeling of the tune. When I play this tune I usually follow it with "Hard rain" (which is basically a waltz), and "Hollis Brown" (though some would drop the high E too, I don't tend to) then tune the bass string back up again and move on.

@plonker00765 Cheers
I used a Yamaha LD10E guitar. Hohner Marine Band harp. Alesis iO2 USB audio interface. T.Bone SC1100 mic and Cubase software.
