I am not American, and i really despise the US military and government (not regular US citizens), but this former US soldier is one of the few i respect. It takes a lot of guts to say what he said, despite knowing there might be negative repercussions.

Patriotism is the bridge between the people who start the wars and the people who do the job for them. No matter what, when you fight for your country, you're always a "patriot", you're "loyal", you're "honorable". And really, doesn't it feel better for a soldier to think that he's somehow a hero for dong what he's doing instead of thinking of himself as a Government's pawn? And isn't it easier for the Government if people buy that shit? We really have to get rid of that whole "patriot" concept.

Pat Tillman was an American football star who give up his lucrative career to do his part for the country by joining up. Once in Afghanistan he started to change his mind and talk about the lies that took America to war and the protection of the poppy fields, he was shot in the head a few times from friendly fire. Research him on you tube, I wonder how many of the dead solders and journalists that are killed had started talking about the truth of whats going on?

Why on earth would you want to be part of a military machine that invades innocent countries and kills thousands of innocent women and children?
