  • Super great work.

  • @pgm98387 So why do you need the open water you've implied?

Unless there is an edible plant that REQUIRES a body of water, or lillypads are on your menu, there's no reason to have an open water reservoir/pond for a food garden. Have you considered a rainwater setup? (ex rain barrel with a valve). Just learn and think about what your plants need, then fulfill the need.

  • @donsjuand Drowning is the leading cause of death for infants and young children in 18 states and, nationally, ranks 2nd only to automobile accidents, claiming lives of approximately 4,000 children each year and leaving another 12,000 with some form of permanent brain damage.Drowning is the second-leading cause of injury-related death among children under the age of 15. (U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)

  • @pgm98387 Based on what studies?

  • @octohorse Maybe if you eat alot of it...like most things :) If you're concerned, you can watch your kids or not let them go in it. This food method is MUCH safer for the whole family than the alternative of eating chemically altered foods that encourage fossil fuel use, cause ecosystem degredation and pollution.

  • @exclamation3mark bamboo is the quickest growing, yet only native to certain areas. In areas without natural bamboo, you can cut down dead trees. If you have no dead trees and you need to cut more down, replant.

  • @octohorse thats where the pedos hide

  • what is the best thing to do if you need wood for cooking fire. Is there a tree or plant, shrub or something that will be able to fulfill the sustanability thing without needing a full scale plantation?

  • This is an awesome way to circumvent sewage--combine with the composting toilet and avoid all of it.

Just curious though, someone above said to keep kids out of the reeds---is it actually dangerous?

  • good video but bad quality! wish people could stop that on youtube :(
