Jim is wrong when he talks about shying away from an item that "only 5 people in the world want, regardless of value".
There is NOTHING that "only 5 people in the world want". I don't care if you're talking about a dog-turd-in-a-can, there will be at least 5 or 10,000 people in the world who want it. Okay? That's the first thing to understand. The Internet, especially with high-traffic sites like E-Bay, makes even the TINIEST market niche plenty big enough!

Okay good video. Very Well organized, I myself make a living off a niche I discovered of helping people financially. I make quite a living off of it, so you can say I've gotten to the winner circle. My videos like Build a Niche Website also explain that you need a researched niche market to be successful at at with creating an online business. I have other videos like How Do I Register A Domain Name? to help people step by step to actually pursue and start up their business.
Glad I found this! I really like your video :)

Is a unique offer like a USP?

I'd say it is. For example - a cell phone seller on eBay that is selling $35K per week makes this common item more valuable by bundling $1.50 (wholesale) worth of accessories with each phone they sell...and they make $12-$15 more than their competitors on a phone by doing it.
