They waited to watch the burner run, then they took off, it was like 4am in the morning and the sun was coming up, I think we worked a 17 hr shift that evening and I was LEAD, had to get the planes up to DESTROY, Hell Yeah!!!!

I remember when I had to do an engine run, full burner on an F15 E Strike Eagle while on TDY there for RED FLAG. In front of the hush house were 17 Blackhawks filled with Pararescueman, CCTS, SOWT, TACP and tons of cargo. They were flying to Loiusiana to rescue all the civilains from Hurricane Katrina.

Late answer, sorry - I think we have a misunderstanding here 2 serb fighters where shot down. Us hilicopters were all sitting on the ramp like ducks - that would have been a costly they if the serbs would have made it...........

this is a scripted movie...so obviously it doesn't represent what really happens at Red Flag...like the intensity and other ways of simulating real combat...all which would be COMPLETELY classified as to the true nature of the training

@Thoth36 no, top gun could fall into that cathegory, this one IS a documentary.Propaganda movies are INTERPRETATION of the reallity, with adds, lots of "ketchup" and "chili" and some times, many scifi effects, bad or good ones. This one is the real thing through the eyes of state of the art video equipment under the direction of sober film makers. Anyway, if it persuades any person, group of persons or government to do or not to do, is not the intention of the film maker, who is just informing
