Galashiels Fireworks And Christmas Lights Switch On

The switch on of Galashiels Christmas Lights and the largest fireworks display in the south of Scotland by the Braw Lad and Lass. Organised by Galashiels Chamber of Trade as part of its Shop Local campaign. Partly funded by Scottish Borders Council, with the Chamber making up the rest, this years show attracted over 6500 into Galashiels town centre (figures from Lothian and Borders Police).

Thanks to David Houston, Phil Macari and Robin Moncrieff (all Galashiels Chamber of Trade) along with Wilson Jamieson Fencing and Forestry, Murray and Burrell, Galashiels and Langlee Community Council, Galashiels Rotary Club, Scottish Borders Council, Lothian and Borders Police and of course Phenomenal Fireworks for there help. (and of course the many helpers who braved the weather to change bulbs and hang lights)
