This should be shown on US television with sponsors like Autism Speaks and the Autism Society of America. I have a mild form of autism, in which in serious formal public situations, this will be causing a scene nobody wants, esp. an autistic or adult with autism (a controversy on which is more appropriate self-name/term). +

i imagine thats a difficult thing to deal with, but honestly, if im in a cramped elevator alone with a stranger who i interpret to be leering at me sexually, my first and foremost thought is to protect myself, not consider his feelings. he might have autism or he might be sexual predator and be threatening my safety - im not gonna take any chances.

Oh, that is so TRUE to form. Poor guy - I used to date a high-functioning autistic, and he said sometimes things were so confusing because people wouldn't look at him when they were talking, and he couldn't understand what they were saying if he couldn't see their faces... and the name-badge thing, absolutely 100% right.

Oh she's such a dumshit! You don't have someone ask you a question and them go looking through papers as if he's not there! That would lead me to ask the question again! And I REALLY hate hearing endless babble. "Yes, right this way" would be enough. And if you don't want someone trying to look at your name tag, don't pin it to your fucking boobs! If a girl did that, would you call that girl a lesbian?
I probably have aspergers. Which is why I understand this.
So it's wrong to read a name tag? Get out. Why stick it on your shirt where your breasts are if you don't want people looking there? I can't believe the woman couldn't pick up this man had a condition. I can tell he has something.

this is really sad...breaks my heart....Anyone with half a mind would realise the guy is not your average run of the mill guy.
