Same happen to me. Mine is a 2001. I replaced the radiator and water pump went out. I caught it before it ran hot.

You know ironically I have the exact same thing with my corolla and it happened Aug 23 to. my car broke down off a school zone road I had people pissed at me. I got so mad I pulled the top of my door down and bent the window seal. My motor was replaced. This car was an 01 and probably with no warranty. Mine was under warranty though.
