Patronising, racist. No doubts.

Patronising overtones and racism? Possible. What struck me as being very jarring in this ad was the contempt that comes through in the rejection of the 2nd bean - "he's nothing". It's the typically disgusting and sick large corporation portrayal of excellence.
-
I think its just sad :(
-
am i the only one wondering wat the guy from Ghana says to the bean?
-
anybody smelling neo-colonialism????
-
this ad is foul and racist. It portrays the white man as a superior being judging the produce of ghana. im really surprised that it hasn't been banned.

@christinegingles mind your language! and a world is only terrible for those who bring hate to a society, just like you! I suggest you visit a psychiatrist...

there is nothing something racism about it . its normal . they want to show that they get cocca from fuckin ghana. n if ghana is a black country wats the fuckin problem mate? its all upto ur vision how u look at this advertise. shit mannn
I see how slavery and Brit colonialism has been portrayed as an acceptable part of our not so glorious past. This ad is in bad taste and lacks morality and broadcast ethics.

You might want to give this a read: "Chocolate Nations: Living and Dying for Cocoa in West Africa" by Orla Ryan --- A little research on the side helps for a better understanding of what's behind this commercial (it's available on Scribd too). You might not think it's so "cool" anymore...
