Do we really just have a sword? Is that all the weapons in God's arsenal? If we are led by the Holy Spirit of God and He tells us to use one of His weapons, do we have authority to do it? If God has all kinds of different weapons in the Bible, are they still available today? When Paul described the Roman army's equipment to encourage the Christians of the day and show them that what they had in the Spirit was even better, it was the meanest, toughest army they knew. But it's not as encouraging to modern Christians. If Paul were around today, would he update that visual aid? Or are we stuck with chronologically fixed Roman weapons, while our enemy continues to evolve? Are we even fighting a real enemy or is this all just goofy? If you don't think demons are real, then just go sit in a pew and go back to sleep. Those that KNOW there is a real WAR will handle the bad guys for you. Try not to get in the way. And it would help if you'd stop the malicious talk and finger pointing and just go feed some hungry people or something.
