A clip from Ruth Denison's teachings during 2010 Women's Fall Retreat at Dhamma Dena Desert Vipassana Center. Ruth Denison studied in Burma in the early 1960's with the meditation master Sayagi U Ba Khin. She has been teaching since 1973 and is founder of Dhamma Dena, a desert retreat center in Joshua Tree, California. She is known for her energy and unorthodox way of teaching Vipassana meditation. She uses movement, music, rhythm, chanting, and sound as supportive meditation patterns for the practice.

  • Thank you for your appreciation, Tammy!

Yes, I felt that very much while receiving Ruth's teachings. Something about having a very old and wise woman teacher makes the transmission even more potent.

  • A classic example of the older and wiser teaching the younger and less experienced. Great wisdom - thank you for sharing.
