SONG IS NOT MINE IT'S "STOP (blue mix) by Ghost_K. All the work on the car was done by my father and myself. It's 97' Prelude 5th gen H22A4, it's engine insides are stock (and its staying that way HONDA KNOWS WHAT IT DOES) I've heard of a lot of people who start seeing problems when they open up the engine, I'm not going to risk it this is my every day ride and my car. I really don't know why people say H22's can't be boosted, mine has handled it very well, it has not given em a single problem and it has been boosted for almost 2 yrs now, the first year it lived as you see in the video at 8 psi of boost. These days it does have more mods in it, like a proper boost controller, an AEM fuel rail and fuel pressure regulator, NGK iridium plugs and spark plugs cables, and 550 RC fuel injectors, it's also running 12 psi of boost now, it dynoed 364whp (sorry i did not have my camera with me at the time, sister broke it, but the dyno paper is laying around somewhere in my room if I find it I will post it). I will stick with these numbers until I get better traction, ideas are welcomed, i don't like spinning my tires till 3rd upper RPMs. I have not timed it but i did stay neck and neck with a Civic Si turbo (2006 model) of a friend of mine which runs about 12.3 secs, it was rolling of course because of my traction issue, but I still find my car quite fast and extremely reliable for an every day car. HONDA FOR LIFE.

  • I got a 3rd Gen prelude and want to boost it not exactly sure where I should start any suggestions would be appreciated

  • @jrex87 sorry but I don't really know much if anything of 3rd gen preludes, so I don't know their strong points or their weak points. But being an aged car I would first due all of the routine check ups make sure everything is up to spec, this includes new clutch, maybe injectors, ignition system, gas pump, etc... other than that, check a reliable forum, and read up all the info you can find. sorry I can't be of much help there, and good luck.

  • I got 99 lude I plan on turbo charging.. I pretty much planned on doing alot of the mods you have done, but never heard of adding two more fuel injectors on the supply piping.. How exactly is this done... Your knowledge in this is greatly appreciated.. Thanks

  • @rctaylor81 it's quite literally done as said, you take the intake pipe that is closest to the throttle body and you make two holes in it in which to place the extra injectors this can also be done directly in the intake manifold, but then un doing the turbo would be less reversible.

  • I GOT A PHONE CALL THIS MORNING FROM A LOCAL SHOP A GUY IS SELLING A FULLY BUILT MOTOR GOLDEN EAGLE, RODS, SPRINGS, PISTONS, AND MORE STUFF THREW IN OVER 5-8K HE IS IN DEBT AND WANTS TO SELL FOR 1000 BUCKS HMMMZ I THINK THIS WILL SOLVE ALL MY PROBLEMS?

  • @oxlpowwwlxo do the same test I just told you. Good parts don't mean anything if they are not installed or working properly. If it is properly built than it is a bargain, if not it may become more of a headache than an actual solution.

  • What exhaust do you have?

  • @oxlpowwwlxo I personally had everything MSD in my car. I had a 6AL ignition, bigger spark plug cables, MSD distributor CAP, MSD SS blaster coil, NGK iridium spark plugs. I had the car tuned for this whole set up, that together with the gas set up is what made the 300+ whp. A turbo kit alone should run you near the neighborhood of 250 - 270whp (if you don't want to push your luck with the engine/components).

  • @oxlpowwwlxo I would suggest you leave you car in a very sedate tune if your don't have ignition yet as you may ruin your block from an improper or incomplete constant combustion. Also check timing in your cams to be correct while your there for the compression check. As for a ignition set up there are a lot of ways to go, ask your tuner which he is more comfortable with, always get second and third tuner opinions (knowledge is power in life and cars). The better prepared the bigger the power.

  • @oxlpowwwlxo back to the manifold. Your may want to check it for leaks as this would reduce the turbo spool greatly and also the wastegate from opening properly, you should have full boost at about 2500rpm. My turbo was ceramic and ball bearing t3/t4 and it spooled up at about that range. I don't remember precisely what are the drawbacks of bigger injectors, but you are wasting capacity and also if not blueprinted/tuned properly they could chug more gas from one side than the other.
