  • On a brand new Hollowbody II that I owned, I could never get the Piezo bridge low enough before bottoming out, which made it impossible to achieve good action on this $4200 guitar. In addition, the Piezo controls were VERY scratchy right out of the box. I could only think that these were design/quality issues that the factory let go out the door to prevent redesigning the Piezo bridge and controls to save money. PRS -- I would like your viewpoint on this...BTW - I still like PRS guitars.

  • @JonMcCulloughBand We certainly didn’t cut any corners on the design or construction of the Piezo unit and the system should work perfectly. The guitar is warranted through the authorized dealer it was purchased from. If you are the original owner & are experiencing problems you feel are warranty related, contact your authorized PRS dealer immediately. Your dealer can evaluate the guitar and if need be, assist you in having the guitar sent back to the PRS factory for further evaluations.

  • Fantastic guitar, sound and tech, but $3k+? I guess I'll never own one or have the pleasure of playing.

  • Another fantastic innovation from Mr.Paul Reed Smith. Great job with this guitar and I hope to get my hands on one soon!

  • anyone knows the price of this guitar?

  • can i play like...heavy rock with this guitar?

  • @MyLifeChanger, commercial work. I don't own it. Search my suggestions. They apparently do. I do intend to create a demo of my rig and post it on YouTube in the near future.

  • @teerexness link to your studio recordings?

  • @MyLifeChanger, Search "Adrian Belew Parker" or "Steve Howe variax". Or search "James Tyler Variax: Acoustic Sounds". I've been converting to more live work and less studio lately, but I used my ESP/Variax on a recording a while back because it had a better Knopfler-esque tone than my Strat does. If I were called upon for studio work again, I would use it without reservation. Zero hum or buzz on a Les Paul/ Rectifier setting inches from my computer is also very, very nice. Does the P22 do that?

  • @teerexness I'd love to hear your studio recordings. That's all I have to say.

  • @MyLifeChanger, I've used my Variax equipped ESP at both paying gigs and in the studio. I am a pro gigging. You don't actually READ comments do you? Modeling is completely different than just having piezo sensors going into single tone shaping circuit, giving it a blend control and calling THAT versatile. Try playing "Stairway to Heaven" on the PRS, with all the correct guitars. Oh, and my "toy" has been in rigorous daily use (no batteries) for over a year since completed. How about your P22?

  • @teerexness Once again, I can't believe that you're actually comparing a variax with a PRS w/piezo. Perhaps your setup sounds fun when jamming in the garage, but if you're a pro gigging musician and session guitarist in the studio you really couldn't be using that stuff. The Line6 stuff is just a toy, and saying the P22 is a one-trick pony is just ridiculous. The McCarty style guitars is very versatile and the piezo sounds very good too. But of course compared to your 200 guitars in 1 setup...
