Help Me Sleep and other Tips On How To Help Me Sleep

This is a great list of tips that will give more information on how to help you sleep. Of course, you probably won't do all of these every day, but the more of them you do, the better chance you have of feeling amazing tomorrow. Have a look:

Don't do anything else in bed other than sleep. Reading, watching TV, surfing the web are all things that need to be done elsewhere. If you do those things in bed, you train your body to be awake while in bed.

Sleep or get off the bed! If you don't fall asleep within 20 minutes or so, get up, and do something relaxing and go back to bed when you feel tired again. Maybe take a hot bath, or read.

Watch your naps: keep daytime naps to 40 minutes or less, and try to take them in that 'siesta' time slot between noon and 3 PM.

No Nightcaps -- Don't drink alcohol too close to bedtime. Although it makes you feel drowsy, so you might be fooled into thinking it's helping, it will really mess up your sleep.

Decaf, please - this should be an obvious one. No caffeine close to bedtime. Optimally, you wouldn't have any after lunch. Of course, if you're sleeping well enough every night, maybe you could eliminate all caffeine from your diet.

No Sweat -- keep evening exercise to a light minimum. If you're going to have a tough workout, try to do it earlier in the day.

Relax -- Let go of the stress and you'll sleep better. If you find yourself thinking about all the things you have to do tomorrow, just make a list. Once they're written down, your brain can let them go, and think relaxing thoughts.

Hot Bath -- 60-90 minutes before bed time, take a hot bath or shower. This will trigger your body temperature to drop, leaving you feeling sleepy.
