Life [Original Poem]-Kieran Collier

I got them moves like Jagger
Like Shakespeare, I'm full of swagger
Swaggin' through this fair and foul day
Can't stop me, I won't sway

Double, double
Toil and trouble
This world of struggle
And I just want to snuggle
Cuddle with the world
Sleep my problems away
I may not get eight hours
But tomorrow's just a new today

So who cares if I'm sleep deprived?
Or that when I got my license I couldn't really drive?
Humans by definition are full of faults
Like ropes with knots, it all just rots
So all we can do is tie them tight
And replace them bi-weekly if we acquire the funds
The world can be fun if you open your eyes
Sure everyone dies
But there's this purgatory called life
It's full of strife and disappointment
And doctor-prescribed ointments
But no one needs to know all of that
They just need to enjoy it

The world is b-e-a-utiful
So don't spend it trapped in a cubicle
In an office in a building you want to burn to the ground
Don't let your life be run on coffee grounds
Open the windows and hear all the sounds
The birds and the bees and the wind through the trees
They whistle and sing in the proper key
They fly and they soar majestically
And you would too if you could learn to love free
Love the good, the bad, and the ugly too
Love him and her and me and you

Learn to see in a slightly different view
And I guarantee the monster in your closet will only be the shadow of a teddy bear
There will always be a tomorrow to follow the darkness of today
The world you're carrying on your shoulders is simply a helium balloon
Waiting to transcend the molehills you once thought mountains

Stroll through the gardens and smell all the roses
Tell me, is your nose listening?
Because there's so much to hear and take in
And missing out on life is the greatest sin.

I loved this! My favorite lines were "The world can be fun if you open your eyes/Sure everyone dies/But there's this purgatory called life/It's full of strife and disappointment/And doctor-prescribed ointments/But no one needs to know all of that/They just need to enjoy it". They just struck me more than the rest.
