@HITMAN6661000 I think it's for if the elevator needs to be opened "manually" for whatever reason, that you stick a rod in there to give you leverage to open it partway, enough for you to grasp the door and open it the rest of the way.

yep all of the newer ones made have the pretty little buttons that light up with a ring round them. although they feel a bit plasticy sometimes haha
