Inspired by the Kutcha Edwards song "Stand Strong". Bass & drum loop by Damon Weetman. Oz rock fans will recognize the organ sample.
This video is now included in the Australian Film and Sound Archive

In 1967 Australia voted Yes in a referendum that was supposed to open new doors of opportunity, equality and understanding for aboriginal people. 5 years after that there was a need to set up a tent embassy on the lawns of Parliament House to draw attention to the fact that those doors had remained closed.

On Feb 13, 2008 the Australian prime minister apologized for the Stolen Generations in a new spirit of understanding. Let's make sure we keep that spirit alive so that this doesn't become just another passing feel good moment for white Australia.

  • @PR0GRAMMING incredibly naive response from you here man, dere's heaps of ppl all round the world fighting their displacement. now, it's now, not the roman times.

  • Great stuff, loved the 'turn the other cheek' line. Only flaw is that It was too short, love to hear more.

  • @sikguyy123

but didn't aboriginal tribes engage in tribal warfare that lead to death and displacement?

I don't understand why so many aboriginals are so constantly annoyed at history.

Any of you guys know much about Western European history, or English history? The roman invasion, viking invasion, mongol invasion, Norman conquest, WW1, WW2?

Geez, history is full of groups invading and displacing. There's no point singling out the descendants of people from one incident.

  • I do not think I have a place to comment on Austtralia Day, however, the video is excellent
