My replication of the Bedini SSG motor, using a bunch of AA batteries, a 2SC4242 transistor from a burned out atx power supply, and a seemingly random concoction of wires. But hey, it works! Magnets are 5/8 and 1 inch neodymium spheres, grade n42. Circuit is based on T. Cullen's found on peswiki, see the url in the movie. My thanks to many on youtube as well, including Lidmotor, Introvertebrate, and all the others experimenting with this technology.

  • That looks really good!! You are the second person I have seen that is getting this to work with a bifilar coil NOT made from magnet wire. I have had my eye on a coil of speaker hookup wire that radio shack sells that just might work. Thanks.

  • Hi Lidmotor, and thank you! Your work has been an inspiration to me, I'm honoured to be able to assist you.

I think my extra-large coil makes it more difficult to keep my magnets balanced and controlled, they like to go crazy and fly away (to the nearest metal object). I tried a saturn-style combo like yours... AWESOME but totally scary - mine accelerated out of control and it has a lot of momentum. I'll get a vid for you sometime.

  • Nice demo.

  • Thank you ACG! I really like your coilgun application as well. Some really neat stuff there.

  • use glass and some oil

  • Hi JB! I've had a difficult time finding appropriate testing materials... busted a shot glass in 2 seconds, LOL, so until I can get a good concave mirror kinda thing, I'm stuck with the cheap plastic. There is a little bit of vegetable oil in the cup, and now I have a similar enclosure for the large magnet. Should probably use a better oil... hehe

    thanks!!

  • it looks cool .. but i think u should fill half of that close-wine-cup looking thing with water... this way the sphere would move freely without touching the surface of the cup

  • it magnet could be perff. in structurer

balance the little oil u put =but less rpm a,d the prm you are getting now

is scary i cant conseave the kinetic

e/ freez mag or get some[ blank crs]....................................... nitrogen

    guy b =zz

  • hehehe wait for version 2.0...

actually those little neo spheres get a lot of momentum and can spin around the inner circumference of the cups super fast... I was thinking of putting a tube coming off the 'equator' with a hole covered by a 'trap-door' on the inside which I could open when the sphere is at optimal velocity... and ZOOOOM out she goes!
