Whats the policy with smaller bikes? I have a 250r and would like to go for an open track day this summer.

Nothing wrong with the smaller bikes at the track. Actually a lot experienced riders think you learn much faster on a smaller bike because they brake, corner and handle very well. Plus its a lot of fun passing the big bikes :). 

I'd recommend taking one of the "Turn 2 sportbike school" courses and I'd also recommend doing two days back to back. You'll pretty much need two days to learn the track.

Nice riding but may i suggest you forget the clutch for upshifting and blip the throttle for downshifts.. looks like your clutch aint gonna last long

Well I bought a quick shifter and the bike has a slipper clutch so I still don't blip. Considering that before May of 2008 I'd only done 5 trackdays and this vid was made in Aug I didn't think I was doing to bad. My best lap on my gsxr 600 was 2:14.

@urmomsayswhat Oh sounds awesome, maybe I will try the 650 out, I wouldnt mind trying my 250 out on a track tho.

@Fiercefighter2 I actually work at calabogie and as the other guy before me said you can do the turn 2 in house racing school. If you do it over a weekend you can use your own bike if you want or rent a ninja 250 or 650 and will have your skill level assesed, divided into rider groups and be taught by an experienced instructor in the paddock first and then on track

Thats the plan for this summer, take a trip out to calabogie and hone my skills, the sportbike school sounds good too. and yeah thats one of the reasons i bought a 250r because it handles so well. My brother rides and r6 and is jealous of how comfortable I am with my 250 already :P

@rautir1 what i was told is the wide-at-1st is the safest/easiest, where you basically treat temptation as just one corner. another way is to turn early, swing wide, then turn to make the second/hard part of the corner. that way you are really seeing the corner as it is, two in one, but it's more challenging

I got a Track day At Calabogie and i've been studying ur vid to see the line and brake points. Also i hear people staying wide on "temptation" then cutting in at the end where ur doing the opposite....think i'm gonna have to learn that turn on my own...lol
