  • If an artist has to publish a whole piece about what he/she intended with a work then it's kinda failed.

  • This piece is very inspiring. But I don't think it's about independence because that's not what the title suggests for one, and she keeps throwing herself into him, she isn't dragged in by him. I think it's more about passion and equality, this isn't a male dominated piece where he is leading.

  • @eseromeo1 I thin the comment about independence was meant to highlight the struggle. Personally I'd say there's elements about the mystery of attraction, between both parties here.

  • how can i find the sound track for this video? anyone know what its called?

  • @ATJB1234 The music was created especially for the video/dance. I heard it mentioned too on a Bowie documentary referring to Agent orange. The video shows up in some university library entries. You might have more luck chasing the video than the soundtrack.

  • Is this the original version? The one I am more familiar with (and saw live in 1985) has punchier new wave music, and Louise is topless with a little moustache.

  • @henner59 I'll try to check that - the reason I am not sure is cos I transferred it to DVD ages back. I think details may be on the web somewhere as it was on a Dance on 4 season

  • @quitethoughtful. I don't agree, I don't think that's what the comment suggested at all, there's nothing abstract about how she percieved the piece's significance. Reginaholic is entitled to her opinion, I'm not saying that it was wrong, in fact art is usually different to everyone. The significance of the piece, I don't think we'll ever know unless Mr. Lock published his intentions. Even then, there is a disconnect between what an artist intends and what the public perceives. Thank you.

  • I really think it's about a power struggle... the women is fighting to be independent and free from the bounds of a male dominated society. This is truly amazing and these 2 dancers must trust each other so much with this piece.

  • Thank you for posting this! I was looking for this everywhere!
