Music video of Capoeira Angola LA Style. This song is Hip Hop / Capoeira. It contains footage of Mestre Touro, Mestre Biqueno, Mestre Preto Velho, Professor Zumbi, and Professor Georgie. Scenes from Batisado 2006 in San Diego and Los Angeles.
Capoeira is Afro-Brazilian. It is the bBrazilian blend of various African fighting techniques originating mainly from Kongo, Guinea and Angola (as did the Brazilian slave by the way). These techniques have been incorporated into dancing moves in order to hide its martial features. There is a school of thought arguing that Angolan "Zebra-fight" N'Golo is the origin of Capoeira Angola, due to the lack of attacks employing the hands. Capoeira is the child born to an African woman in Brazil.
Capoeira has its origins from an African ritual called Ngolo-Dance. It was 100% developed into what you know today in Brazil by both, African and Brazilian slaves and that's why we say in it is Afro-Brazilian, because of its roots. Today is officially recognized as a Brazilian martial art since the Ngolo-Dance is totally different from what Capoeira is today.
Carioca does not refer to Capoeira in any way, Carioca is how we call people that are from the state of Rio de Janeiro. Sort of calling New Yorker a person that is from New York.
why is it that capoeira must be different? it is not different. many styles different regions. DO NOT believe the falshood that capoeira is just regional and angola
it is quite obvious that you know nothing of the history of capoeira coming out of rio. in Rio they even had a seperate name Carioca. out of Rio- as things we a little different. it is foolish to assume that capoeira has just 2 origins- angola and regional. how stupid is that? there are many styles of kung fu, silat, and so many other arts.
