  • @Soniaspapa And the Celtics could pick Tim Duncan in 1998 but finally the Spurs got it.

  • @Agentmufff I think history is like that, the Celtics destroyed the league during the 60's, and then still during the 70's and even the 80's but after all that it was time to hurt the franchise, but the Celtics will be back, they won in 2007 but that had nothing to do with what they are going to do in the future.

  • @cdhawk10 Imagine, the Celtics picked Len Bias the year before and in 1987 they got Reggie Lewis, Len bias could do Bird's job and Lewis Ainge's job. But both dead.

  • his death affected the celts like shit for good amount of years...dam

  • Red Auerbach knew what the draft is all about

  • Don't forget about PP too.

Pierce was in China at a Nike camp, then a couple days after he left an earthquake killed a couple thousand people... then the stabbing.

  • Yes, those unfortunate events did hurt the Celtics, but I think the main reason why they were so bad for so long was because of poor management and coaching. Chris Wallace and Rick Pitino completely destroyed the organization with their poor player/personnel moves

  • thanks for rating my comment i jsut thought it was the honest truth for guys w/his caliber should be honored with that 17 banner ..were onto the 18th!

  • The Celtics couldn't catch a break, the year after Len Bias dies, they select what turned out to be an elite NBA player at pick #22!! Reggie Lewis dies after the 1992-1993 season during the peak of his career. R.Lewis would have been all-star/elite NBA player for 4 or 5 more years and who knows what the Celtics could have done.

Reggie Lewis situation was different from Len Bias because we actually saw him become a great NBA player. We will never know what kind of pro L.Bias would have been.

  • To draft Len Bias and have him die 48 hours later and the very next year draft Reggie Lewis and have him die right when he ready to break out and become the guy is really just unbelievable. No wonder the Celtics were so bad for so long.
