Thanks for posting this. Can you do a disassembly video? I got a model 50 as a gift and Im not sure of how to strip it. It was in bad shape so I painted it (since striped it), reconditioned it and chopped the barrel. Does yours only take two in the tube? I'm wondering if there's a plug? Thanks.
Btw, there is a video if it on my page.

i have two model 50, ser.#70006 and 82877. the research i have done said it was made from 1954 to 1961....the 50 you have is in exellent shape,,nice gun

They weren't a bad gun but the springs were awful and pooped out, as far as I know they are rare compared to how common they used to be, ppl tossed em when the springs wore out considering the price of em and lack of knowledge

If you go on google they have a website that can tell you how old the gun really is.
You type in the serial number and it will tell you. I did that on my late fathers Model 12 shotgun.
hi Keith, nice gun. Finding production dates for old Winchesters is very difficult as there are no surviving records from the original WInchester (pre Olin ownership) days. My grandfather bought his, that I now have, in the mid to late 1950's. If you google "winchester model 50 disassembly", you'll find a link to a download pdf disassembly manual. These are VERY complex guns to maintain but very reliable. Don't shoot steel shot in it as it will damage the choke at the muzzle of the barrel.

@shannon1973 i know which is a bummer i only use it for grouse and skeet now unless the wallet has enough dough in it for the bismuth shot but it can get pretty pricey with the shooting we do lol a buddy of mine tryed the new black cloud shot in his old remington 870 with a poly choke and tore it all to peices after a dozen shots it started loosing its patteren now the gun is pretty much useless lol .. noticed these guns can reach 500 or so for value which isn't too bad for the era .
