  • It's scenes like this one that make me believe Norma Desmond's line "We didn't need dialogue. We had faces!" Such a heartbreaking, deliriously poetic movie.

  • I've always found it weird how they can record the music for movies but not the characters dialogue. Oh well.

  • never mind that itried to kill you love, have a sandwich

  • @MissyHolland What! He wore a wig! Widow's peak?

  • @RubyTuesday717 Great quote!

  • I'm hungry! What a waste of that delicious sandwiches. Give them to me. But on second thought, kinda creepy since they are a bunch of 84 year old sandwiches!

  • Yep lady, you better run for your f-ing life cos your husband'd gone bananas.

  • This is hands down one of the best scenes in a movie ever! Just to have all of that depth in one scene without any talking is amazing, and that one line, "Don't be afraid of me!" really brings it home. I also love the vulnerability of the characters in this scene and how it spreads to whoever may be watching. Great movie

  • He has to regain her trust under the most impossible of circumstance. If he doesn't, he'll be lost... If she can't, she'll be forgotten. Murnau pulled it off with the visual medium of silent film, and I'll still remember how he did it as as from the first time I saw it. Impossible and Brilliant!

  • @DonFarshido i get tears thinking about that AWFUL wig lol

  • i never really watched silent films before......

but now i understand y people like it soo much

i cried the whole 10 minutes in this clip

there was just soo much emotion! even if there was no talking you could feel everything!!
