the reason he was not a major star is because most have to compromise to become major stars. his music does not lend itself to compromise. thats a good thing for fans of willie deville. major star = mainstream =overproduced

My favorite singer; my favorite song. Glad I got to see him live back in the day, and glad I saw the tribute at B.B King's last year. Cant wait til this year's.

I miss Willy DeVille! I thought those days would last forever, this band was the greatest. I am so glad I saw them all at the Willy Deville Birthday Tribute at BBKings in August. Thank you Minkers! Thank you, Willy DeVille, RIP.

I'll never understand why Mink DeVille never broke through to a mainstream audience. This guy had it all: good looks, great voice, wonderful songs going into many genres of rock. I know he had some problems. But what performer hasn't? He should've been a major star.

yeah those were the days all right, when NY was fun and ... well, just the place to be. Best time at the Lone Star was when Mink DeVille played. Best to all, I'll always be a fan.
