1 Player Mode vs. Computer. There is no way of changing the difficulty. Each character has it's own set of difficulty, a set of 8 computer opponents skilled from easiest to hardest. The way the competition works is it's a race to complete 3 jigsaw puzzles. Finish first, and you win the match. However, you can gain the lead by using various items to help you solve the puzzles or to give setbacks to your opponent, all of which you can get by placing pieces in the correct spot as fast as you can. What ever time you have left over after placing a correct piece, goes to your "POW" meter. Fill up the "POW" meter, you get an item. You can get up to 7 items, starting with the least powerful to the most effective items in helping you win.

Despite the lack of variety in puzzles, the competitive aspect actually makes solving jigsaw puzzles fun. But if you don't have the patience or the focus, you might end up just pulling your hair and burning this game into bits. The puzzles aren't that difficult though. Just 3, 24-piece set puzzles. The game Pieces itself can lack in replay value the more you play it due to the lack of variety in puzzles. If only Atlus could re-release a newer version of this game with wi-fi play for the Nintendo DS with new puzzles as regular updates... or better yet: user-created puzzles. Now that would be fun! *Hint, hint Atlus. Take my word for it, this could be another puzzle gaming hit.

  • @Eliskuya It's possible actually. We just have to both have zsnes, have the same exact rom file, swap IP addresses, and then have a direct connection, and we can play from there. I've yet to find out how to play online wirelessly though.

There's also zbattle (dot) net, but you need zsnes anyways. It's been awhile since I've played online with another player.

  • @FreedomFighterLance yeah that :P

  • @Eliskuya You mean like online play?

  • geez Lance trashed the Computers like trash, I wish we can play this :)

  • @Joey19990 Yes. That I did. ;)

  • You just crushed all those computers!
