This week Kris talks you through jazzy sounding lick constructed from some arpeggios and 'outside' notes. Check in each week for a new lick, and check out www.shredacademy.com for more licks and lessons, our shop, forum interviews and more!
D Dorian is simply a C Major scale that starts from the second note. Anything in the C harmonized scale will work in theory. C ionian (major) D dorian E Phrygian, F Lydian G mixolydian, A aeolian (natural minor) B Locrian. All the same notes.
So do Minor Arpeggios and Chords work with the Dorian Mode? For example, based on note formation, what goes with D Dorian? I play a whole step down, so, I've been told, it's the same as E Dorian in standard Tuning. I don't need chord names, just how to tell by note name.
Hey - great playing! What kind of pick up are you using in the neck position? It sounds great.
