http://live.besttechie.net - Is Mobile Me worth $99/year? Well, it does provide some handy features in a nifty user interface, but most of the stuff it does can be done for free of charge with already existing Apple products or other 3rd party products.

  • Hey, I saw a later video when you got the ipod touch 2nd gen, and I was wondering how do you like it?

  • It's not mine, I bought it for my girlfriend for her birthday, but she loves it. I think it's definitely nice and worth getting if you don't have an iPod Touch already. I don't know if there are enough "worthy new features" to say it's a must-buy.

  • Daymm thts gayy.. U gotta pay. Smh jus use icloud

  • It's lame that only a 4g ipod supports mobile me. apple is a rip off

  • If you make an entry on your iphone calendar, mobile me does not update. Neither does outlook. Am I missing something?

  • Everything breaks down. That's the point in a backup :P

  • If your someone that refuses to pay for 99, use gmail, google calendar, flickr or picasa, and dropbox. I did this prior to getting mobileme but the synchronization is just not as fluid. Also there is no push just fetch for contacts and calendar although now I think there is for google email. And on the iphone you have to make sure to create your new events in the google calendar and not just in home or work cause it wont sync with google calendar if u do. (part 2)

  • I use time machine as well, but mobileme is good for syncing up your photos, bookmarks, calendars, email, and idisk. 2 things, I personally prefer gmail and i myself have had a gmail address for ages, since everyone has my gmail address cant really change it, so i forward my email to mobileme. I did this cause I like having everything together in one service and on 1 webpage. this way i can continue to use gmail address while still enjoying the synchronization, push, and everything together. 1

  • @jdiamos No... It goes through MacGyver-.-

  • Time machine is great and all but hardrives eventually always break down. Its nice to think you have your important stuff on a server so when the sh#t hits the fan, you can still acces it. Also im a bit clumsy with my backups. Always using my external hardrive for different stuff and forgetting that i have backups on there :p . So im looking forward to start using it somewhere next week! Hope its a stable service.

  • Does Mobile me track your iphone through GPS?

  • Don't shoot me, but the reason we got MobileMe was because of my iWeb site (i.e. that no one hardly visits) and the .mac e-mail address. Now, is that stupid or what?
